Sign them up for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten (1KB4K) at Big Rapids Community Library!

Every child in your family can participate, from infant up to Kindergarten.

​

The program in a nutshell:

• There are two ways to participate. Register at the library and pick up a Badge Book. This is what you will use to track your reading. Or, register a reader on our Beanstack website or app to track their reading.

• When you have read 100 books to your child, your child has earned a sticker, a small prize, and they get to move their character up the train!

• When your child reaches 1,000 books, they will receive a book and a stylish Certificate of Achievement.

• Finished all the steps? Congratulations! You did it! You gave your children a priceless gift — the readiness to read!

Does reading 1,000 books seem totally overwhelming?

We promise, it's not as hard as you think!

3 books a day for 1 year = 1,095 books

10 books a week for 2 years = 1,040 books
1 book a day for 3 years = 1,095 books
